Subject: API Security challenge

Dear All,

We appreciate your help reaching out to universities.

F5 in partnership with bjCSIRT and AfricaCERT are honored to invite you to
a preparatory meeting on "API Security challenge" event by F5 Labs. The
initiative is a CTF aimed at beginners passionate about cybersecurity:
ideally 1st and 2nd year computer science students.

Through the concept of learning via gamification, F5 Labs is introducing a
gamified version of a system that lets you hunt for API vulnerabilities on
your own to learn how they work. The system simulates some of the errors
that are left intentionally or unintentionally in the system and similar
issues that have been exploited and resulted in breaches.
This event aims to raise the efficiency of participants through an
educative CTF on the security of APIs. Through its members, AfricaCERT and
bjCSIRT aim to spread the word through respective official channels on API
Security event which will be held on September 10th, 2021, at 15:00 (UTC)
for an approximate duration of 2 hours.
Kindly find the attached Concept note for API Security CTF event and below
the agenda of the event.
Diversity and gender equality are fundamental values for AfricaCERT and its
members. To this end, as part of our gender equality and inclusion views,
participation of women in the IT field is strongly encouraged.

*Date of preparatory meeting: 27th August 2021*
