[Community] e-Infrastructures for Africa: Gateways to the Future" Conference

Dear Colleagues,

As you know, WACREN was an affiliate partner in the EU FP7 project,
e-Infrastructures for Africa (eI4Africa) which was very successful and had
some interesting functional demonstrators as outcomes.

They include the Africa Science Grid Gateway with over a dozen lighthouse
applications from other regions and the TRODAN data repository from weather
monitoring stations in our region contributed by the Center for Atmospheric
 Research of the Nigerian Space Agency.  This resource is now available to
African research communities.

Other demonstrators  in NgREN include a Certificate Authority compliant
with the requirements of the International Grid Trust Federation and a
successful deployment of the first Identity Provider based on the SAML 2.0
standard.

The conference aims at bringing together policy and research stakeholders
from both Europe and Africa to discuss major developments and perspectives
in the field of Africa-EU e-Infrastructures cooperation.  The main outcomes
of the eI4Africa project will be presented.
