"Ce premier atelier de formation et événement communautaire « Les Femmes dans WACREN » est organisé en collaboration avec SenChix <http://www.senchix.sn/>, une association de femmes évoluant dans le domaine de la technologie, en collaboration avec le snRER <http://snrer.edu.sn/>, la Faculté des Sciences et Techniques <https://www.ucad.sn/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=1523&Itemid=354> de l'Université Cheikh Anta Diop de Dakar (UCAD) et le projet AfricaConnect2 <https://www.africaconnect2.net/Pages/Home.aspx>.

S’appuyant sur une plus large culture d’action et d’espaces hackers dans les réseaux nationaux d’éducation et de recherche (NREN), l'événement lancera un programme visant à réduire les déséquilibres actuels en faisant davantage participer les femmes. Il supportera les étudiantes et les professionnelles afin qu'elles améliorent leurs compétences en STIM (science, technologie, ingénierie et mathématiques) grâce à l'expérimentation avec les robots et l'électronique, en leur apprenant à programmer ces appareils."

Leveraging a broader promotion of maker culture and hackerspaces in NRENs, the event will kick off a program aimed at reducing current imbalances in gender participation. It will support female students and staff to improve STEM skills through experimentation with robots and electronics and learning to program these devices."
