Colleagues,
The email below presents an opportunity for parties interested in Internet
Governance (and that really should be all of us)
WACREN is promoting a model where NRENs and National and Regional IGF
initiatives (NRIs)
<https://www.intgovforum.org/multilingual/content/igf-regional-and-national-initiatives>
collaborate
on issues of Internet Governance in their countries. In particular, NRENs
can exploit the student communities in their networks to bootstrap the
emergence of youth-led initiatives.
The model was recently tested in Nigeria and you can read the report of the
Nigerian Youth Internet Governance Forum (NYIGF) that was launched as a
result at

Best wishes,
*Omo OAIYA*

Subject: [NRIs List] IGF 2019 Call for Travel Support
To: igfregionals at intgovforum.org <igfregionals at intgovforum.org>
Dear Colleagues,
The Call for Travel Support to attend the 14th annual IGF meeting
<https://www.intgovforum.org/multilingual/content/supporting-participation-at-the-igf-2019-annual-meeting>
is open until 30 June 2019:
https://www.intgovforum.org/multilingual/content/supporting-participation-at-the-igf-2019-annual-meeting
*Background *During the IGF 2018 meeting in Paris, the United Nations
Secretary-General has called for action to increase inclusiveness in the
IGF processes. Specifically, it was called for a* ‘dedicated effort to
include and amplify the weak and missing voices’*, as well as for the IGF
to evolve toward a more multidisciplinary framework (see full speech
<http://www.intgovforum.org/multilingual/content/igf-2018-address-to-the-internet-governance-forum-by-un-sg-ant%C3%B3nio-guterres>).
Historically, the IGF community has also advised to increase diversity in
the IGF processes.
For these reasons, the IGF 2019 Host Country, Government of Germany, will
support eligible stakeholders to participate at the 14th annual IGF meeting
in Berlin, from 25 – 29 November 2019.
*Application and Selection Process*
All interested stakeholders are invited to submit their expressions of
interest through a dedicated form
<https://www.intgovforum.org/multilingual/content/igf-2019-call-for-travel-support>
at the IGF website by 30 June 2019. The IGF Secretariat/UNDESA will
collaborate with the multistakeholder organizing committees of the
national, regional and youth IGF initiatives (NRIs) in order to identify
the most suitable candidates that will enrich the IGF 2019 processes, but
also bring long-term benefits to their respective communities from gained
experience.
Potential applicants are kindly advised to consult the IGF website and
review all information about the application and evaluation procedure,
before submitting requests.
Best regards,
IGF Secretariat
