Dear Community,
The National Institutes of Health is launching “Harnessing Data Science
for Health Discovery and Innovation in Africa (DS-I Africa)
<https://commonfund.nih.gov/AfricaData>,” a new NIH Common Fund program
that will leverage existing data and technologies to develop solutions
to the continent’s most pressing clinical and public health problems.
The program will issue $58 million to support awards in four areas: an
Open Data Science Platform and Coordinating Center, Research Hubs,
Research Training Programs and Ethical, Legal and Social Implications
Research. The funding opportunity announcements are expected to publish
this summer, with the first application due date estimated for November
2020.
