LIBSENSE is pleased to announce the National Open Science Symposium – 
The Gambia -

held in Banjul as part of the pre-event activities of the WACREN 2026 
Conference - https://wacren2026.wacren.net/.

This high-level symposium forms part of the LIBSENSE National Open 
Science Roadmaps - 
https://libsense.ren.africa/what-we-do/open-science-policy, which seeks 
to catalyse the establishment and strengthening of national open science 
policies, infrastructure and capacity-building across Africa. Similar 
symposia have previously been held in Ghana, Nigeria, Sierra Leone, Côte 
d’Ivoire, Botswana, and Tunisia, contributing to national-level progress 
in open science policy development.
