Dear Omo + All,

This is the delegation process:

Delegation Process
**¿Can you see this image?

Delegation process steps:

Step 1. Setup NRENum.net zone on DNS servers
Step 2. Send delegation process request to NRENum.net staff via email
(delegations at nrenum.net)
Step 3. Zone is delegated! :)
Step 4. Setup H.323/SIP Gateways and communication endpoints.

So, we encourage NRENs to begin with the Step No. 1, to start
identifying which DNS servers to use and setup the NRENum.net zone locally.

The delegation process is very fast when DNS servers fulfill technical
requirements, these are:

1. At least two (2) DNS servers to handle the zone "X.X.nrenum.net"
where X.X. is the country code inverted
     i.e. +57 is 7.5.nrenum.net

2. Each DNS server MUST:
     2.1. have a Public IP Address
     2.1. have a domain to this IP address
     2.2. have an IP reverse record that matches the domain
         i.e. dns.renata.edu.co --> 186.113.12.180
              186.113.12.180    --> dns.renata.edu.co
     2.3. DNS servers must be on different networks (this is for High
Availability)

3. The zone "x.x.nrenum.net" must be configured and fulfill:
     3.1. to have an A record (pointing to the IP address of the primary
DNS where zone is hosted)
     3.2. to have a NS record pointing to the DNS servers that resolves
the zone "x.x.nrenum.net" (primary and secondary)
     3.3. to have a valid mail in the SOA record
     3.4. to have a MX record to a valid mail exchange server

As you see, "nrenum.net" domain is owned by TERENA/GEANT, zone
delegation is about setup subdomain "x.x.nrenum.net" locally, after
NRENum.net staff reviews your delegation request zone will be fully
delegated and becomes authoritative.

*NOTE: I am sending a template of the zone "x.x.nrenum.net" attached,
please check it.

If any doubt comes up don't hesitate to ask answering this mail.

Best Regards.
